GRANADA TOWER. Seismic Retrofit and renovation of the 9-story, 30,000 SF historic Granada Tower in downtown Santa Barbara. The reinforced concrete structure is integral with the Granada Theater (listed under Performing Arts).
CARRILLO RECREATION CENTER. Renovation and seismic retrofit of a one and two-story wood framed structure with brick veneer built in 1913. Lateral analyses of the structure were performed using both the requirements of ASCE 41-06 and the California State Historic code. Based upon the intended used of the structure and the budget for construction, it was decided upon to use the California State Historic Code as a basis for the design of the retrofit.
